We have been brought up for decades with the knowledge that to turn things up, we turn them to the right (clockwise), and of course, the opposite direction to turn things down. I am talking about radio’s, all electrical appliances, and until recently - gas cookers and fires. SO! Why is it that the gas people have decided to do the opposite? I am fed up with turning things down on my cooker, only to realise that I have turned things up instead.
I am grumpy about this and wonder how many others feel this way.
