israel and the bungling plot
By grumpybloke

Without in any way trying to defend Israel against the allegations that it may have carried out the assasination in Dubai of a Hamas terrorist leader I do worry at the way the western press has jumped to the conclusion that this was a Mossad operation.
I would be shocked indeed if it were so not because of the act itself but at the stupidity of those who carried it out. Mossad has a high reputation for covert operations and this would be severely dented if they were behind this.
Even James Bond could have done it better!! Can you imagine any serious intelligence outfit laying a trail so clearly back to their origins? Surveillance cameras everywhere so they are in full view, forged passports in the main cloning israeli citizens with british passports and five Irish passports all of which are registered with the hotel are just two aspects that would make most intelligence outfits cringe at the very thought .

It has all the hallmarks of a crude attempt to cast blame at the Israelis and probably was more likely an Iranian plot than an Israeli one though I am sure the Israelis were delighted at the result. Of course it is also more than possible that the CIA were behind it in some convoluted attempt to execute a double bluff on everyone

And what about the holier than thou responses from the UK and others when we spend most of our time trying to eliminate al Quaeda terrorists by whatever means including invading whole countries?
