I was born in Singapore. If you had a plain meat curry they always had side dishes of:
Raisins
Pineapple Chunks
Shredded Coconut
and; Marshmellows!
It sounds disgusting but there is no better way to tame a hot curry than the above items placed on top and then mixed in on your plate - but only after the Marshmellows have melted. Try it - you will thank me!
