As from today the new travel procedure for replacing the green Visa Waiver form that we complete on on the aircraft before landing in the USA has been replaced by ESTA (Electronic System for Travel Authorisation). This must be completed before departure or you risk not being able to board the aircraft.

This has to be completed on line, but you will see that there are many sites offering an ESTA service that are hoping to cash in. I have read that these are unauthorised third parties and not endorsed or affiliated to the USA Govenment.

So, go straight into the US Embassy website where it will confirm there is no fee attached to ESTA. https://esta.cbp.dhs.gov

I feel sorry for those who are not computer literate or savvy enough to work their way through the red tape that is slowly tying us all up in knots.
