Love Yourselves Ladies
By helena

I watched a programme on BBC three last night hosted by Natalie Cassidy (formerly Sonia from Eastenders) on fad dieting. While at first I thought this is Cassidy jumping on the bandwagon she actually made some interesting points, and she wasn’t half as annoying as Dawn Porter. I don’t read women’s magazines because generally they make you feel worse about yourself, but she had counted all the articles and snippets on dieting featured in their sweaty little pages. There were hundreds! From maple syrup diets to cabbage soup diets the advice was endless. The thing is - and I am surprised more women haven’t cottoned on to this - dieting doesn’t work. It takes a lot of effort, time and concentration to count calories and prepare some of the most disgusting meals on the planet! Three healthy meals a day and exercise is all a person needs - and despite what Heat or Now may claim that is how Cassidy herself lost her weight. The bottom line is if your weight is unhealthy, lose it, but if your friends, family or other half can’t accept
you for what you are, then stuff them. They don’t know what they’re missing!

Well said helena.

The food industry thrives on fads and so called healthy eating but most of us know what our bodies will tolerate and when we abuse those bodies it’s hardly surprising that they rebel.
