a really moving and intense film shot in and around jaffa and nablus which illustrates the tensions that exist not just between israelis and arabs but within the arab community itself. Language is mainly arabic with some hebrew and the whole film is subtitled. Well worth seeing

A great and entertaining film with amazing performance by Merryl Streep as the divorced lady dealing with ex husband who wants to come back after 10 years though still married to his new wife.
The film keeps up a good pace throughout and manages to also keep a smile on your face all the way through.I imagine most divorcees will relate to this and probably quite a few others too.

David Hare has created an entertaining show that seems to aim to inform those who need informing about the runners and riders in the economic debacle that began last year. It is well constrcted and is an enjoyable piece of theatre but really does not compare in entertainment value to Enron.

What a great show! The cast was huge and energetic and the idea of a failed corporate business being the subject of a West End Show (though its at the Royal Court in Kensington) was brilliant. It encapsulated the greed and madness that enveloped large businesses in the heady and frothy days of only a few years ago and took us all from the highs to the lows that finally brought the business to its end and its leaders into jail and it did so with music and movement as well as clear explanations of the fraud that was committed sprinkled from time to time with real humour
If you can get a ticket then its a must see

Anna Friel played her heart out in this production but sadly she was really the only source of energy in this rather uninspiring production of Truman Capotes story. It would have been better to leave the good memories of the film with Audrey Hepburn.

A delightful film about the legendary Julia Child who started seriously cooking at the age of 37 and went on to become a household name in the USA although curiously more or less unknown in the UK. Meryl Streep conveys the character of this quirky but detirmined lady who only decided to learn to cook in Paris because she was bored . Amy Adams plays Julie Powell who has a boring and stressful job in a government office and takes on the challenge of cooking over 500 recipes written by Julia Child in 365 days which she records on her daily blog gradually becoming a star in her own right.
The film cleverly manages to show the two lives entwined together and is both fiunny and sometimes emotional particularly when Julie has to \\\"murder\\\" a lobster.

Well worth a visit and great performances byt the two stars and supporting cast.

I read the book and once I had worked out what was going on it became a really good read. the film will be confusing at first for the same reason but I enjoyed it as the main character, Henry played with great charm by Eric Bana, moves back and forward through time and his long suffering girlfriend and then wife,Claire played by Rachel McAdams, lives with this mysterious condition.
An open mind about sci fi and time travelling is needed to really enjoy this one but it scored well on my sheet. The romantic theme should attract anyway.

You will either be shocked and offended or laugh your way through this very unpc film. My partner started laughing as the opening sequences started and did not stop till the end. She thought the whole thing was hilarious. I must admit some of it was very near the mark and bordered on soft porn but it was cleverly put together and there is no doubt that Sacha Baron Cohen has a real talent. It remains to be seen how he progresses to more sophisticated scripts in the future

If you are lookiing for some luxury on the ski slopes and want something a bit different try the Hotel Manali in courchevel1650. Its not as fashionable as 1850 so fewer Russians but has a great spa and health area as well as a first class restaurant. It\'s right on the slopes so you can ski to the hotel. The staff are friendly and help you on and off with ski boots which is a real treat. Its not cheap but nothing is in Courchevel but i suspect there are some good deals to be done for next year since overall business in the resort was down around 25% compared with last year.

There was an air of expectation. After a wait of three months and holding on for someone to answer the phone for half an hour to make the reservation we had finally arrived at the Fat Duck. Well we had almost arrived. Having passed the modest entrance of the restaurant in Bray a couple of times we entered the rather small, non-descript, low ceilinged dining room with white walls and large calming abstract paintings.
Our reservation was for 12pm and there was one other couple embarking on their culinary experience. My son and daughter were joining me on this adventure. My wife preferring a bout of retail therapy to the culinary challenges of snail porridge and egg and bacon ice cream.
Like 95% of first timers to the Fat Duck we had the 18 course £125 tasting menu. Our first course arrived presented by a rather scary waitress who insisted we down our nitro-poached, foaming green tea and lime mouse in one go. My daughter incurred her wrath by hesitating for a couple of minutes which evidentally diminishes the full nitro experience. The taste was clean and fresh although the sight of foam coming out of my nose was a little disconcerting.
There followed a further five sampling dishes of differing degrees of interest. The outstanding dish being the jelly of quail, langoustine cream, parfait of foie gras oak moss and truffle toast. This arrived with a box of moss which when ignited released a stong woodland smell and a wave of nitro smoke which enveloped the table. The experience was enhanced by the thin film that was placed on our tongues that gave off a mild truffly taste. A truly sensual experience that was hugely entertaining.
The meal continued with the famous snail porridge with jabugo ham which lived up to its reputation. Unfortunately around this time we realised we were going to have a problem with my daughter who was not enjoying these original morsels and was frantically texting my wife with message of how sick she felt and how she wished she was shopping with her. The waiters, who were professional and humourless, were expressing the chef\'s disappointment at full plates returning to the kitchen and asked if she wanted an alternative delicacy.
The \"Sound of the Sea\" arrived complete with an ipod and head phones which was playing sea swooshing noises and sea gull squawking to get us into the maritime mood. The contents described as sake, shiboritate, tatsuuma-honke and hyogo tasted like cockles and other mollascs and was great if you like raw mollasks - which my daughter didn\'t.
Salmon poached in liquorice gel, ballotine of Anjou pigeon and mango and Douglas fir puree followed before we reached the nitro-scrambled egg and bacon ice cream. This was an ice cream that tasted of egg and bacon - not nearly as unpleasant as it sounds.
At 4pm we finally finished our meal. The restaurant had been packed with an interesting cross section of clients, mainly young and informal. There had been a lot of smiles and giggles - except from my daughter. Overall a thoroughly entertaining and enjoyable experience with snatches of original and delicious flavours. It is not an experience I will rish back to but it was certainly one we hugely enjoyed (except my daughter) and well worth the money.

35 minutes getting to the counter.....tsk tsk & another ts......minutes do count.....but honestly now is that really such a serious grumble.....slow down if that is your worst complaint you are doing very well......to cross over into the states from canadan & vice versa......you sit in a car for any where from 1-2 hours with the exhaust blowing up from the other cars... on my last visit i had to get out of the car go to \'the office\' because i had some fruit with me they confiscated my lemon yes my lemon took away the paradise fruits, left me an old orange & apples that were condemned anyway...seems terriorists are not a priority it probably was the the wife called up & said she needed a lemon the paradise fruits were a nice bonus........
